CROSSRC EMO crawlers are built to a higher standard than most hobby-grade crawlers — featuringfull metal chassis,portal axles(which raise the drivetrain higher off the ground for better clearance),multi-link suspension, andlocking differentials. These features are found on real off-road vehicles and give CROSSRC crawlers exceptional rock crawling capability compared to plastic-chassis alternatives.
RTF (Ready to Run)includes everything needed to drive immediately — motor, ESC, servo, receiver, and transmitter are all pre-installed.ARTR (Almost Ready to Run)includes the chassis, body, and mechanical components, but requires you to install your own electronics. ARTR is popular with experienced builders who want to choose premium motors, ESCs, and transmitters.

Aportal axlemoves the wheel hub above the axle centerline — raising the entire drivetrain higher off the ground. This dramatically increases ground clearance, allowing the crawler to pass over larger rocks and obstacles without the chassis getting stuck. Portal axles are a key feature of serious rock crawlers like the CROSSRC EMO series.
CROSSRC EMO crawlers are built for outdoor trail use and can handlelight water crossings, mud, and wet terrain. For other brands like RGT, WLtoys, and HG, avoid deep water submersion as electronics are not fully waterproof. Always rinse and dry the crawler after muddy runs and check individual product listings for waterproof ratings.
Most 1/10 scale crawlers (RGT, WLtoys, HG, MJX) use2S to 3S LiPo batteries. Larger 1/8 scale CROSSRC models typically use3S to 4S LiPo. The 1/5 scale CROSSRC XX2 and YIKONG models may use higher voltage packs. Always use a proper balance charger and refer to your specific model's manual for recommended battery specifications.
